Why These Books?

I have chosen these books for many reasons, but the most prominent reason is that they all resonate with me. The military books resonate with me because my father is in the military, and I am very interested in the stories that they tell. Books like Hatchet tell stories about self-reliance and survival, which are things we were raised on and are important to me. Finally, the books about law enforcement resonate with me the most because that is the field I work in and can compare to the most. Overall, whether they're close to my personal life or not, these books all have valuable lessons, and I hope to learn just as much from the ones I haven't read as from the ones I have.

What's Next

Answering 911 is next on my list because I've been working in dispatch for over a year now, and I'm curious about the funny and wacky calls other dispatchers have taken. War Dogs comes second because, even though I've already seen the movie, the book usually tells the story differently, and I want to see what changed.
